Utah-based U.S. carrier SkyWest has ordered 100 Mitsubishi Regional Jets (MRJ) with the option of an additional order of 100 more aircraft, announced Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation.
This is a major milestone for the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries subsidiary, with both orders being valued at US$4.2 billion each.
“Without a doubt, this is a major order and significant boost for the MRJ program,” Mitsubishi Aircraft president Hideo Egawa said in a press statement.
